California Notice at Collection
The purpose of this Notice at Collection is to provide California residents with notice regarding your personal information. Included below are (1) the categories of personal information to be collected, (2) the purposes for which the personal information is collected or used, (3) whether that information is sold or shared, (4) the length of time we intend to keep the categories of personal information or the criteria used to determine that time period, and (5) a link to our privacy policy or information on where it can be found online.

Note that the categories of personal information that we will collect about specific consumers will vary based on our relationships or interactions with those consumers.
In addition to the above, if you are a California resident who is a job applicant, employee, former employee, director, officer, or independent contractor of Customers Bank, we collect and/or use your personal information for the following purposes, as applicable:
- To process your job application, establish a job applicant profile for the recruitment process, assess your qualifications for a specific role with us, schedule and conduct interviews, communicate with you, and carry out background and reference checks. We may collect audio and visual information of job applicants through photographs used for identification purposes. With your consent, we may record video of you in connection with the application process, for example through a third-party screening service. Additionally, if you are offered a position with us, we may use your personal information in the employee on-boarding process.
- To conduct reference checks and to evaluate your qualifications and experience. We may also conduct background checks (as authorized by you and permitted by applicable law).
- To analyze and improve our recruitment process and tools. For example, we analyze trends in our applicant pool, and use personal information to understand and improve our recruitment process and tools (including improving diversity and inclusion). If you use our online job application process, we collect personal information in this category, such as your interactions with our “Careers” page and our online application process.
- Selling or Sharing Person Information The California Consumer Privacy Act defines “selling” as disclosing personal information to a third party for monetary or other valuable consideration. The Act defines “sharing” as disclosing personal information to a third party for cross-context behavioral advertising, whether or not for monetary or other valuable consideration. Customers Bank does not sell personal information to or share personal information with third parties.
- Retention of Personal Information We will retain your personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes for which we collected it, including satisfying any legal, regulatory, tax, accounting or reporting requirements. To determine the appropriate retention period for personal information, we consider the amount, nature and sensitivity of the personal information; the potential risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure of your personal information; the purposes for which we process your personal information and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means; and the applicable legal, regulatory, tax, accounting or other requirements. When we have no further business need for your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize it. However, if deletion or anonymization is not possible (e.g., because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion or anonymization is possible.
