Information concerning Wawa Data Breach

Customers Bank received confirmation that Wawa convenience stores identified a cyber security data breach that went undetected from 04/22/2019 – 12/13/2019.

Some owners of Customers Bank-issued VISA Debit cards were part of the breach. Those owners have been notified by email.

At this time, we have not seen evidence of fraudulent activity on any accounts. However, we are continuously monitoring all card activity for potential unauthorized use. If it becomes necessary to close and reissue your card, we will notify you.

If Customers Bank does detect a possibly fraudulent activity with your card number, we will alert you by SMS Text, email, or a telephone call. In these communications we will identify your account by the last four digits on your card, and we will inform you of the transactions we found suspicious with the date, merchant name, and amount of the transaction. We will NOT ask you to give us your personal information.

We will ask you to confirm whether these transactions are yours. It is important to reply to these alert messages quickly.

Be aware of any contact claiming to be about the breach. Under no circumstances would Customers Bank ever contact you by telephone, send you an email or text message, or written communication requesting that you validate or provide your online banking User ID and password, your social security number, account number, or date of birth.
